colosseum

Colosseum is one of the places Omar wanted to visit during our Italy trip. I didn’t have much expectation; however, it turned out to be my favorite place we visited in Rome (I know now why it’s a must-visit place!). I mean this massive place built with concrete and sand from almost 2,000 years ago? Unbelievable. I watched ‘Gladiator’ yesterday for the first time and had to post this place. Such a great movie too! (I know I’m so late.)

It suddenly appeared on our way to the hotel when we first arrived in Rome. So many cars drives by right next to Colosseo every day.

Me imagining being ancient Roman here.

I always wondered how it worked, but finally found out that there was a covered floor on top of the underground level which contained many rooms and paths for gladiators and animals.
