la eat : three places to get donuts

Do you like donuts? To me, I forget about them if I don’t eat them for a while, but get so addicted once I eat one. A donut can change the way I eat. Here are my three favorite donuts shops in Los Angeles, and I’m happy to know new places if you have recommendation. Where ever I go, my favorite is simple glazed.

1. Randy’s Donuts
When I first got a job in LA, this iconic donut shop happened to be our neighbor. Before smart phone and yelp, this place seemed to be our only choice to get breakfast (even lunch sometimes). They have everything from glazed, twists, apple fritters or jelly, and because all donuts are so tasty, I didn’t mind to go there few times a week. It’s located closed to LAX, so it’s a good idea to get them before/after flying.

2. Fonuts
Fonuts offers very different types of donuts. They are baked and/or steamed and Never fried. Never fried donuts..! The chef/owners says ” Fonuts replicate the donut taste you know and love, but give it a modern spin, featuring gluten-free and vegan options alongside traditional varieties.” They are little like a sponge cake but somehow it tastes like a donut as well. I love their idea (and donuts!) so much.

3. Donut Friend
Donut Friend has so many varieties of donuts which are more like a cake than a donut. Nutella sand donuts or goat cheese & strawberry jam, anyone? At this place, we actually can custom order them *aka: DIY donut. Price range is little higher than regular donut shops, but if we think about getting a cake, it’s a good deal. Their branding is amazing and they make a donut to a next level.

1. Randy’s Donuts

2. Fonuts
8104 W. 3rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90048

3. Donut Friend
